- 2 oz. rye whiskey
- 1/4 oz. absinthe
- 1 sugar cube
- 3 dashes Peychauds bitters
- Lemon twist
- Add a few ice cubes to an old fashioned glass and set aside to let the glass chill.
- Add sugar cube to a cocktail mixing glass. Soak the sugar cube with the bitters and muddle. Add the rye whiskey and stir to combine the sugar and whiskey.
- Discard the ice from the chilled old-fashioned glass. Add Absinthe and swirl around to coat the glass, then discard (traditional, but if you’re like me keep it in there!) Add whiskey mixture to glass. Squeeze lemon twist over cocktail to release the lemon essence into the drink and enjoy.
