Training for a Warrior Dash – Week 3

Ughhhhhh! Injuries suck!  I started this week out great.  Was particularly proud of my jogging effort on Tuesday which was progress for me. Then I don’t know what I did but my calf started hurting. Really bad sharp pain. At about the last 1/2 mile I could barely walk! I’ll never get in shape at this pace.  And have you seen all the recipes I’ve been posting?  You know what that means?  I’M EATING ALOT! Ugh all around! I think I see some South Beach Diet recipes in the very near future, like starting tomorrow!  After all, it is Monday.  Isn’t that when we’re suppose to start diets???

Here’s what I did this week:

Monday:  Obstacle course program (outside) + 3.38 mile walk @14.39 pace, 49:36

Tuesday: Jog/walk with a friend. 4.15 miles @11:43 pace, 48.38  My splits were getting better (high 10min/mile pace) until I pulled a calf muscle.  That’s what I get for trying to run too much!

Wednesday: Weight day.  Good thing since I’m still limping along 🙁

Thursday: 12 mile bike ride, still can’t walk very well 🙁 🙁

Friday: Thought I’d be able to walk today. Started a walk, got about 1/2 mile and calf was killing me again, so we went to the gym.  30 mins. on elliptical.   That motion didn’t bother my calf muscle for some reason.  🙁 🙁 🙁

Saturday:  Nothing, letting my calf rest 🙂

Sunday:  30 mins. on elliptical, weights

I think it’s weird how I can do the elliptical, bike and lift weights and my calf doesn’t hurt, but can’t walk or jog.  Guess I just need to do a different routine for a bit.  Okay, enough complaining for today.  I need to go to the grocery store so I can make my one last not so diet friendly meal before I diet…Oh yeah, you all know what I’m talking about.  We all do it.  Maybe I’ll even have ice cream tonight!!!
