I’m here to report that I survived the Warrior Dash this past Saturday. And boy was it fun! In fact, it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to climb up over some tall walls but I did it, without too much problem, either 🙂 The first obstacle was crawling on the ground under barbed wire. Not too bad but both my elbows and forearms are bruised and scratched up. And somewhere along the way I banged my shin and have a big bruise there too! I didn’t run the entire 5K, probably couldn’t have even if I wanted to cuz those obstacles take a bit of work, and we all stayed together pretty much. No (wo)man left behind! All in all, Andrew our trainer, would be proud of us!
I have to say the best part of it was the group of AMAZING women (and one husband) that participated in it with me. We have the best Navy/Marine wives (and husband) here in Mechanicsburg!!! Here we all are before we left in the morning, still excited with our matching clean white shirts.
We bought the shirts at the exchange. All they had was white, probably not the best for this type of race but that’s the way it goes sometimes. The front says “Got Freedom?” and the back says “Compliment of the United States Military”. We thought they were appropriate for us!
Luckily, one of the husbands was able to catch us in action at the last two obstacles. It would have probably been pretty funny to have pictures of some of the other obstacles!
After waiting in line forever to get hosed off, we cleaned up pretty nicely and then headed to the beer garden for an icy cold beverage!
Then we went out to dinner. We had to replenish all those lost calories, right? I was a little hungry so here’s what I got. What’s not shown is the two Mai Tai’s I had…and they were actually pretty good for a random place in the Poconos.
