*To make roasted fig preserves, slice several figs in half, drizzle with some maple syrup, honey or brown sugar, a sprinkle of salt and fresh thyme. Broil in oven about 5-8 minutes, until they they get soft and golden. Let cool and remove pulp.
If you don’t want to go to the trouble to make roasted figs, use fig preserves from the store.
