Dark and Stormy

In anticipation of Tropical Storm Erika approaching Florida this weekend I thought it was a good time to make a Dark and Stormy cocktail for Friday night happy hour.  That’s a good way to prepare for a tropical storm/hurricane, right???

Dark and Stormy cocktail made with dark rum and ginger beer. Perfect drink any time of the year!If you’re one of my early followers you might have noticed I posted this drink early on.  I thought it was a good opportunity to take a new photo and replace my earlier, not so great picture. Not to mention, I had only one comment and was schooled on the proper way to make a Dark and Stormy!  Ginger Beer first, then the rum.  Looks like a storm that way.  Makes perfect sense to me and so much prettier I must admit!  Now, if I just had an assistant to pour the rum in while I was taking the photo to really give it a stormy look the picture would have been perfect!  Oh well.  Enjoy!  And if you’re in the eye of the storm, make yourself a Dark and Stormy!

Dark and Stormy. A delicious cocktail made with dark rum (Goslings is traditional but use your favorite) and ginger beer. Add a squeeze of lime and enjoy!
