My Favorite Fudge

My Favorite Fudge recipe is (in my humble opinion) the very best!  I make it every Christmas and it never disappoints!

The original recipe I got off the back of the Kraft marshmallow creme container.  Luckily I wrote it down because apparently they changed the recipe many years ago and it just wasn’t the same.

Typically, I’ll make two batches, one with walnuts per the request of my mom, the other without nuts for a smooth, creamy, melt-in-your-mouth fudge… my favorite.

The original Fantasy Fudge recipe from the back of the Kraft Marshmallow Creme jar.  The best!

  • Author: Judy

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 C. sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter (3/4 cup)
  • 5 oz. can evaporated milk (2/3 cup)
  • 1 – 12oz. pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 – 7oz. jar Kraft Marshmallow Creme
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. chopped walnuts (opt.)

Instructions

Grease 9×13 baking pan, set aside.

In heavy 2.5 quart saucepan, combine sugar, butter and evaporated milk.  Bring to a full boil while stirring constantly. Continue boiling over medium heat for 5 minutes while stirring.

Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips. When chips are melted, beat in marshmallow creme, vanilla and walnuts (if using) until fully combined.

Pour into prepared pan and let cool at room temperature.  Cut into squares and enjoy!
