Old-Fashioned Cocktail

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 oz. Bourbon, rye or whiskey (use what you like best)
  • Orange peel
  • Cocktail cherry to garnish, optional (I like Luxardo cherries)

Instructions

Add sugar cube to an old-fashioned glass.  Soak with the bitters and muddle, then add the bourbon.  Add ice – I like to use one big ball of ice but you could certainly use a few regular ice cubes.  Stir well.  Twist the orange peel over the drink to express the orange essence,  then drop into drink.  Garnish with cherry,  if desired.
