Aperol Spritz

This Aperol Spritz may become my new go to summer aperitif!  It’s slightly bitter with a sweet hint of orange and a little herby. The Prosecco and club soda lighten it up and makes it quite refreshing!

Last month I spent a few weeks in Italy and consumed my fair share of Aperol Spritzes.  It was hot and they were so refreshing and nice change of pace from all the wine!  Aperol is made from some plants I’ve never heard of and rhubarb.  It’s a bit bitter, yet sweet and goes oh so well with the Prosecco and club soda!  The Aperol Spritz is typically served in a wine glass with a slice of orange.  I also enjoyed them with an additional olive on a long stick and even a slice of watermelon!

Mix one up in your favorite large wine glass and pretend your in Italy!
