I asked ChatGPT to give me a twist on my favorite lemon drop martini and this Basil Infused Lemon Drop Martini is what it AI came up with!  It’s a hit!

Sip and savor the refreshing combination of citrusy lemon, herbal basil, and the subtle sweetness of the infused syrup. The basil infusion adds a delightful herbal note to the classic lemon drop cocktail (that’s how ChatGPT described this cocktail!).

I may have to experiment with other herbs or ingredients to create more unique twists on the Lemon Drop Martini. Cheers!

Ingredients

Units Scale

 Martini:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz basil-infused simple syrup (I used 1 oz.)
  • Fresh basil leaves, sliced lemon (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar (for rimming the glass)

Basil-Infused Simple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare Basil-Infused Simple Syrup:
    • In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
    • Add fresh basil leaves and simmer for 5 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain to remove basil leaves, leaving you with basil-infused simple syrup.
  2. Prepare the Glass:
    • Wet the rim of a martini glass with a lemon wedge and dip into sugar.
  3. Chill the Glass:
    • Place the prepared martini glass in the freezer to chill.
  4. Make the Basil Infused Lemon Drop Martini:
    • In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, triple sec, fresh lemon juice, and the basil-infused simple syrup.
    • Add ice cubes to the shaker.
  5. Shake Well:
    • Shake the ingredients well for about 15-20 seconds.
  6. Strain into the Glass:
    • Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and strain the cocktail into it.
  7. Garnish:
    • Garnish the drink with a fresh basil leaf or a basil sprig for an aromatic twist.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Your Basil-Infused Lemon Drop Martini is ready to be enjoyed!
